About me
Hey, I’m Mica! Former D1 and professional volleyball player turned personal trainer.
I’ve been an athlete my whole life, from competing on high level club teams as a kid, to playing on the Collegiate USA Volleyball Team, going D1 in both indoor and beach volleyball, and eventually taking my career overseas to play professionally in Spain.
But even with all that experience, no one ever really taught me how to properly fuel my body.
In college, we were told to eat like offensive linemen to make sure we weren’t under-fueling. That approach may have checked compliance boxes, but it left me completely disconnected from my body. I struggled with energy, recovery, and body image without even realizing it.
Later, I hired a coach hoping to finally figure it out, but the plan was so rigid and black-and-white that I developed an unhealthy relationship with food. Every time I ate something “off plan,” I’d binge. It was exhausting.
That’s why I don’t believe in strict meal plans. They might look good on paper, but they don’t teach you anything. You can’t live your life following a spreadsheet. You need to learn how to eat for you, your goals, your preferences, your real life.
When I finally learned how to calculate my own macros and understand what my body actually needed, everything changed. I got into the best shape of my life! Not because I was following rules, but because I finally understood balance.
And that’s exactly what I teach now.
This isn’t easy, and I’m not here to sugarcoat it. It takes effort, consistency, and patience. But when you finally understand how to fuel your body, trust yourself, and live without guilt around food — it changes everything.
